Kilim and leather clutch bag

This pouch is made from a vintage kilim cushion. Kilim, an extremely strong fabric, is produced using a weaving technique unique to Berber tribes. This ethnic clutch handbag has two leather gussets on the side. Our designer clutch bag is made in Paris, and is crafted by leather craftsmen, as is its matching leather key-ring pompom. A genuine clutch that transforms into a handbag thanks to its removable leather shoulder strap. 

Kilims are incredibly patterned fabrics, woven by women in the Moroccan High Atlas, each with its own story to tell. We wanted to give them a second life by transforming them into bags, pouches or kits. They are all unique, representing the memory and identity of the people who weave them. Each tribe has its own style, and their motifs are a form of symbolic writing inherited from ancient Berber cultures. 

Lined with wax-printed cotton, our pouches are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside, because every detail counts for us. This handcrafted bag in recycled wool and cotton is a stylish, eco-friendly choice for anyone looking to add an ethical, equitable touch to their wardrobe. 

Due to the totally handmade nature of this clutch, and unlike mass-produced bags, its imperfections and color variations are part of its history and add to its uniqueness, beauty and value.
